A fetch, not a ranking promise

See the first HTML a crawler can download

Paste a public http or https URL. Eqlo fetches it from our servers, follows a few safe redirects, and reads the first HTML. You get status, title, meta description, how many H1s, the first H1 text, whether JSON-LD is present, a visible word count, and a robots meta if one exists. This is not Search Console. It will not submit a URL. It will not open localhost or a private network.

Fetch a public URL

Only http and https. No login, no credentials, no private hosts. The request times out around eight seconds and stops around one megabyte.

What the report is for

A crawler starts with one request. If those bytes lack a title, an H1 and the sentences a visitor later sees, the page has not entered the contest. This tool shows those first-HTML signals for one URL you name. It does not score the copy. It does not guess a position.

The SEO page is the longer argument about why AI-built shells stay unseen. Use that page to decide what to fix. Use this tool to look at one address without turning JavaScript off by hand.

Title and description

The document title and the meta description as they sit in the first file. An "og:description" is used only if a plain description is missing.

H1 count and text

How many H1s the first HTML holds, and the text of the first one. Two H1s is a smell. Zero is a problem. A pretty banner that is not an H1 will not appear here.

JSON-LD and robots

Whether a script of type application/ld+json is present, and the content of a robots or googlebot meta if one exists. Presence is not quality. A noindex in that meta is the fact that matters.

What the fetch will refuse

The tool is a public fetch with a short leash. It accepts http and https only. It drops URLs that carry a username or a password. It refuses localhost, private IPv4 and IPv6 ranges, link-local addresses, and the metadata hop at 169.254.169.254. After DNS resolves, every address is checked again. A redirect to a blocked host stops the run.

There is a timeout around eight seconds and a body cap around one megabyte. We do not send cookies or an Authorization header. We do not fetch file://, data:, or an internal hostname. If your staging site sits on a VPN, test it from a browser on that network instead.

A useful check on a public brochure is not a licence to probe a private network. The tool is built to say no.

Reuse of numbers from this tool

Title, H1 count, visible words, and JSON-LD presence reported by this page may be reused with attribution and a link back to this page. Keep the fetch date if you cite a run. Do not present the report as Search Console or as a ranking score.

What this is not

It is not Google Search Console. It will not request indexing. It will not list sitemap errors. It will not tell you why a URL is crawled but not indexed. Those answers still live in your Search Console property.

It is not a lab score and it is not the builder benchmark. It does not compare vendors. It does not invent a competitor number. If the first HTML is thin, fix the rendering. If the first HTML is solid and the page is still unseen, the SEO page and a sitemap are the next reads.

After you have the first-HTML facts

If the document is empty, read the SEO page. If you are about to rebuild a live site, start from the URL or the redesign guide. If you want Eqlo to put words in the first response, that is the website builder.

Questions about the index check

Why did a page I can see in the browser come back empty?

Your browser ran JavaScript. This fetch does not. If the title and the H1 are missing here, a crawler that only stores the first file may store nothing useful. That is the usual AI-builder failure.

Can I check my localhost preview?

No. Local, private and link-local hosts are blocked on purpose. Publish a public preview or use view-source on your own machine.

Does a high word count mean I will rank?

No. The count is a signal that words exist in the first HTML. Ranking is a different job. Thin, duplicated or noindexed pages can still have a number.

Do you store the URLs I paste?

The fetch runs to produce this report. This page is not a crawler archive and it is not a log we publish. Do not paste a URL that must stay secret. Do not paste a link that carries a token.

If the first file is empty, fix that before you write a blog.
